The Norway – Denmark sailing adventure – Kronborg castle, Helsingør.

The Kronborg castle was the first sign to welcome us in Helsingor. I loved the way it looked. I loved that it was just there, like it has been for nearly 400 years, now a welcome sign for all the sailors, promising incredible adventure inside its guts. In the past this must have been a rather sore sign, as no sailor dared to pass the castle without paying the king his Sound dues.

The Norway – Denmark sailing adventure – a pleasant 30h ride to Helsingor.

I could hardly believe our luck, when we left Hirtshals the next day in the early afternoon. The weather was just perfect! Enough wind to carry us in the right direction, fantastic company and clean hair 🙂 The visibility was high, and the openness of the sea, the freedom of travelling with the wind made me and the rest of the crew a bunch of happy bunnies!

There is just no cure for them.

The Norway – Denmark sailing adventure – National Petroleum Museum, Stavanger

I was really looking forward to Saturday, as the plan was to leave at 12 so everyone had some time to explore the town and catch up on some sleep. The weather improved immensely – the sun was shining and the sky turned blue. Everyone was enjoying the sun and the “we are not in a hurry” mood. I had my eye on the National Petroleum Museum – Norsk Oljemuseum, situated just a few meters from our marina. Marcin and I went to explore it, giving ourselves 2 hours, which was not enough!
